Newtown resident Patricia Hubert, an officer and matron of the Mirah Chapter of the Eastern Star in Sandy Hook, and of the combined Mirah Chapter and Lady Martha Chapter of Monroe, received an unexpected surprise Sunday, April 12. Following a talk to members of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Masons in Connecticut, at the Crown Plaza in Cromwell on her recently published book, Major Philip M. Slidell Elks Lodge 2321 recently held an Installation Banquet for 2015-2016. Bill Graff was selected to be the new Exalted Ruler. Outgoing Exalted Ruler Herbert Hostler was awarded the jewels of his office by incoming Exalted Ruler Bill Graff. Bill was installed to his office by visiting Special Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler Richard Conran from Plaquemine Lodge.
