Freemasons donate £12k

Representatives of 14 Freemasons lodges from the Hull and Beverley areas held a dinner, during which they presented £11,775 to local and national charities. The event was held at the Masonic Hall in Beverley Road, Hull, and was attended by the Lord Lieutenant of the East Riding, Susan Cunliffe- Lister, and Deputy Lord Mayor of Hull, Councillor Nadine Fudge. Stan Thompson, provincial grand charity steward, believes fundraising is an essential part of being a Freemason.

Across East Yorkshire, more than £37,000 has been raised for charity by the Freemasons in the past year.
