It is generally emphasised that any Freemason should have the total support of his wife or partner and family to enable him to fully enjoy and be involved in his Masonry. However, the wives of members of North Shore Lodge No 7916 excel in their support.
Having formed the North Shore Ladies Committee some years ago, they actively organise and run social events on behalf of the members of the lodge and in doing so raise money in support of the lodge’s chosen charities. And a not insubstantial amount of money is raised each year.
Coinciding with the lodge’s annual installation meeting, the chairperson of the North Shore Ladies Committee Mrs Pamela Wilson presented a cheque for £1,350 in aid of the West Lancashire Freemasons’ Charity to the WM Peter Wilson at an informal gathering at the Masonic Hall, Adelaide Street, Blackpool.
Having thanked the ladies for their munificence Peter highlighted the tremendous effort and time that the ladies had put into raising such a considerable sum and the brethren gave a rousing round of applause to show their appreciation, assuring the ladies that their generosity will be used to good effect.
