The Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland has offered its congratulations to Her Majesty the Queen on the 60th anniversary of her Coronation. Grand Master Edward Stevenson said: “The 60th anniversary of Her Majesty’s Coronation provides an opportunity for us to congratulate the Queen and pay homage to her selfless service over the past six decades.
“As illustrated by the momentous Diamond Jubilee celebrations last year, the whole nation and the entire Commonwealth came together as one to pay tribute to a remarkable person and towering figure in British history. “The unrivalled love and affection displayed by members of the public – none more so than here in Northern Ireland and during the preceding historic visit to the Irish Republic – exemplifies the enduring strength of the Royal family as an institution, with the Queen as its focal point.
“We all owe Her Majesty a huge debt of gratitude for her extraordinary sense of duty and service, devoting herself untiringly to her subjects. With God’s blessing, we pray she will continue in her role as Head of State, setting an example to us all and playing a constant role in our national life. “On this landmark Coronation anniversary, the membership of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland renews its commitment to serve our Queen loyally and faithfully in the years ahead. “Long may she reign over us – God Save The Queen.”
